Job Responsibilities
- Build a working knowledge of video, audio, and lighting equipment in AccuWeather’s Green-Screen studios
- Willingness to grow a functional understanding of the delivery processes for all of AccuWeather’s video products
- Confident ability to troubleshoot general technical studio or video delivery errors
- Ability to book and operate outgoing live video fiber feeds
- Possess a functional understanding of broadcast IFB systems to communicate with on-air talent
- Take ownership of the delivery of live content from the studios to AccuWeather’s social media platforms
- Coordinate with professional television broadcasters and on-screen meteorologists every day to make sure the video content is of the very best quality
- Agility to thrive and work well within a team environment
- Occasional overtime required
- Flexibility to work any scheduled time (nights, weekends, holidays) to support the 24x7 on-air broadcast environment
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent in education and experience
- BA/BS in related field
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in an on-air broadcast environment with a focus on live broadcasts
- Prior knowledge of switchers, routers, comms, ingest and automation systems
- Basic video editing skills
- Ability to be flexible in approach and respond well to pressure
- Possess confident troubleshooting skills that also support AccuWeather processes
- Ability to work outside of typical business hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays) to support the 24x7 on-air broadcast environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
