Who We Need & What You’ll Do
Would you like to help the Product team shape our newest offer on Business services? AccuWeather is engaging on enhancing our wildfire-related features, to provide a comprehensive service accounting for historical events, early detection of active fires and forecasted risk, designed to help companies, municipalities, and organizations to better prepare and react. At the same time, expand the services to also account for smoke and air quality impacts to business, often related to wildfire events.

The Product Manager – Wildfire Services will report directly to the Lead Product Manger for Paid Products and Business subscription (that manages all B2B products), and will be focused on defining and developing the capabilities of this new feature, while keeping scalability and performance in mind. This new Product Manager will be responsible for creating and being the champion of the Wildfire Services roadmap, working with Sales, Business, Operations, Marketing and Development teams. This person will also work with the other AccuWeather for Business Product Mangers with the goal of best integrating Wildfire Services to all other B2B platforms.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate as the subject matter expert for Wildfire related products within the Product team, supporting the exploration and realization of solutions that drive AccuWeather’s next generation technologies and services. Establish and manage scientific goals through implementation and improvement of a process of rapid prototyping and development in a cloud-based environment.
  • Perform research across the Wildfire services competitive landscape, to understand differences in underlaying data, platform capabilities and pricing.
  • Create the Roadmap of new features and released around of Wildfire offer.
  • Work with our Design team on applying best practices of UX/UI for the client facing output of our Wildfire offers.
  • Define the strategy on how to best integrate the Wildfire offer into AccuWeather’s B2B product environment.
  • Support Sales and Business on defining the pricing strategy for wildfire products.
  • Join prospect and client meetings, being the voice of the product team around wildfire offers
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years or more experience in product management & strategy, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience in conceiving, developing, launching and maintaining digital products
  • Expertise in ingesting, manipulating and analyzing weather datasets or related
  • Experience with Wildfire related products will be a strong differentiator
  • Innovative mindset with a desire to work on a variety of projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enjoys engaging in a team environment, including daily stand ups and routine brainstorming.
