The primary purpose for the Vice President, TV Ad Sales, is to oversee the Advertising Sales function for the AccuWeather TV Network. This role is responsible for the growth of advertising sales, meeting and preferably exceeding corporate sales targets within sales organization cost budgets. The Vice President TV Advertising Sales will work with the CRO and the GM of the AccuWeather Network in determining the strategic direction of television advertising sales to best position it to meet, and preferably exceed, corporate sales targets, provide dynamic leadership, provide ongoing and needed feedback to the management team about the success path and the sales organization’s and personnel metrics in meeting the corporate objectives, and ensure that the Television Line of Business results are achieved in the most cost effective ways.
What You'll Be Doing
Negotiation & Leadership
Negotiate complex deals at top management level that affect major aspects of advertising sales performance on the linear AccuWeather Network; pursue and close challenging and strategic agency accounts
Work with digital sales lead to develop and execute multi-platform sales strategy to maximize revenue
Optimize balance between direct response, direct sales and sponsorship opportunities
Make deal decisions for assigned platform
Internally serve as platform leader and develop tools and messaging to all internal parties
Represent AccuWeather Television Network in Ad Sales business community and manage relationships with various constituents
Communicate and collaborate internally with other departments including Pricing & Planning, Data, Product Development, AES, Marketing and Digital Media.
Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
Experience We Are Looking For
Minimum of 10 years extensive Sales/Sales management experience
Minimum of 5 years sales management in Television, digital and/or mobile.
Clear understanding of television ad sales and operations
Established network of contacts and relationships within the Television ad sales business community
Proven capacity to enhance revenue and margins, year over year.
Ability to travel as required.
