The global product team at AccuWeather is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the API and data product team. This role is at the forefront of AccuWeather’s innovation and an influential leader involved with shaping the products and services we offer across both consumer and enterprise markets. The role will lead a team from end-to-end, and rigorously prioritize objectives against the product vision. Reporting to the Product Director, this position is joining an expanding team whose focus is to transform the existing suite of products used by more than 300 million consumers worldwide, as well as lead the next generation of innovative product development. The role is an exciting opportunity to translate your vision into an impactful strategy while also defining features, designing experiences and driving execution from start to finish.

The position is based in New York City or State College, Pennsylvania. Travel will be required.

Your day-to-day

  • Develop, through stakeholder collaboration, a cohesive vision for the AccuWeather API to enhance our product ecosystem
  • Lead the team charged with maintaining data related product systems including our AI, Location and R&D
  • Work with API engineers and account managers to identify and prioritize both product enhancements, while simultaneously crushing technical debt
  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements; communicate to stakeholders regularly
  • Work closely with cross-functional product teams to identify and prioritize a roadmap of high-impact projects
  • Produce and review product requirement documents to an exceptional standard
  • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule; continuously measure and innovate
  • Own the end-to-end success of projects from requirements definition through design, development, launch, and post-launch analysis
  • Serve as subject matter expert for your products, capabilities and services, and aid in providing guidance to others in regards to this expertise
  • Develop a strategy and make creative recommendations to expand our product vision across the portfolio

Your experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years' experience in the conceptualization and management of digital products
  • Strong knowledge of digitally distributed products and technology
  • Experience writing detailed requirements for products; such as wire frames, criteria, and business cases
  • Ability to interact and communicate with product, design, and development teams of all levels and backgrounds
  • A broad, strategic orientation with an attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable to ruthlessly prioritize a pipeline of work based on a strategic evaluation of goals and implications
  • Expertise with several analytical and metrics gathering programs or services
  • Comfortable making independent decisions and thinking through all product ramifications
  • Highly creative, with ability to work within practical boundaries
  • Flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing environment
  • Travel between New York City, NY and State College, Pennsylvania required
