At accuRx, we're on a mission to change lives by bringing patients and their healthcare teams together.
Who are accuRx?
At accuRx, we're building a world-famous healthcare communication platform. Our mission is simple - to change lives by bringing patients and their healthcare teams together. Our technology is revolutionising how technology is adopted and how care is delivered in healthcare.
Established in 2016 and now with £9m in Series A funding, accuRx is one of the UK's fastest-growing tech startups. In two years, we grew from only a few GP practices using us to over 50% of practices in England. Today, over 95% of GP practices rely on us and over the past few months we have worked really hard on driving adoption within Hospitals, our product is now used in over 50% of trusts and this number is growing day by day. Our vision is that anyone involved in a patient's care can communicate with each other.
In response to COVID-19, we spent March and April working tirelessly to release new features to help frontline staff. This includes a video consultation solution that went from zero to 35,000 daily consultations in the space of 8 weeks. We spent November and December building a vaccination booking system that has already saved frontline staff many hours and helped with vaccination uptake for vulnerable people in the UK.

Unlike many healthtech companies, we are a software provider, not a healthcare provider. We allow existing health and care systems (starting with the NHS in the UK) to deliver technology-enabled care, free from any AI/Blockchain-hype.
Life as a Product Engineer at accuRx
Every day at accuRx as a Product Engineer, you will be solving real world problems and building software that is going to impact every single person in the UK. You'll join a small team of diverse and talented people who care about what they are building and why. Together you'll be inspired by how you can fix a world-wide problem in technology. You will single-handedly change people's lives from what you are creating.
Some of the features we’re currently working on include COVID-19 vaccine booking to support the national vaccination programme and accuMail to connect primary and secondary care. See our public roadmap for what’s up next. Also essential to our mission is internal tech that gives our operations, partnerships and support teams the tools to get our health product into the hands of millions of patients and their healthcare teams.
We don't mind what languages or frameworks you've used before (in fact, different experiences bring different perspectives to the table, we are always keen to hear other peoples views) - just that you're willing to break things, fix things, learn fast and carry on creating! This will be a full stack role, as you grow at accuRx you can specialise. We feel the best way for you to build the best products is to understand how the front end works with the back end and visa versa.
To best service healthcare practices and build a scalable solution that will be used in every GP practice, hospital and care home in the UK we currently work with Kubernetes, C# (.net core), SQL, React, ES6, TypeScript and Redux (check out our full tech stack here). However, we are constantly learning, iterating and improving. As we continue to grow at a phenomenal rate, who knows what tech stack we will be working with soon - and you could be the person to show us!
What’s unique about engineering at accuRx?
Every day you’ll be applying the “product engineer” mindset. This means being close to users and their needs (e.g. getting involved in user research by joining sessions with patients and their healthcare teams), helping decide what we build (e.g. collaborating on design and specifications), building with a focus on the end goal and being responsible for continuous improvement to the live services you have shipped. What the team say ...
Jafar - Senior Product Engineer
"Diversity is super important when hiring because everyone brings their own set of unique experiences which really helps with tackling engineering problems and coming up with much better well-rounded and thought-through solutions. Also from a more selfish point of view, I really enjoy learning about the experiences of others, especially when my eyes are opened to new ways of working or ways of thinking."
