Roles & Responsibilities:

The Clinical Field Specialist will onboard, support and maintain an excellent clinical and commercial experience for all customers. He/she will be responsible for helping customers adopt and sustain a new standard of care including training on use of the company’s vascular access technologies and creating awareness of the clinical benefits. The Clinical Field Specialist is responsible for ensuring best practices are deployed for clinicians to ensure commercial growth and customer success. 

 

Clinical Field Specialist is a critical member of commercial team participating in many of the key clinical and operational aspects of account qualification discussions, evaluation, implementation and post implementation coordination and planning.  Requires ability to educate on new technology through hands-on training and in-servicing (live and virtual), and coordination of training hospital teams including vascular access, critical care, and nursing staffs. Interface at multiple levels at accounts to establishing strong relationships with practitioners. Strategic and analytical planning skills essential to ensure all AVI evaluations and implementations are successful including metrics, data collection, and clinical communication with prospective and current customers.  

 

This position will also provide subject matter expertise in vascular access externally to prospective and current customers as well as internally to assist the commercial team with the development of clinical training tools as required.

 

The ideal candidate will possess experience both as a practicing healthcare provider in the vascular access space (VA-BC) and as a medical device industry professional. We are looking for an individual with a sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and an ability to make strategic clinical decisions in a fast-moving environment. A passion for improving patient care is required. 

 

Clinical Field Specialist will be responsible for a range of activities, including:

 

  • Act as subject matter expert on all clinical and practice matters in vascular access space
  • Highlight the clinical benefits of the technology to prospective and current customers
  • Plan and lead evaluations, implementations including resource planning, scheduling, communications, metrics, formal training, and in-services, and follow up training
  • Ensure best practices are deployed at every account
  • Provide customer insights through commercial channel to help to refine and improve clinical best practices, commercial strategies, clinical research efforts, product enhancements or new product solutions
  • Assist with creation of clinical education materials, protocols, tools and clinical training programs for end-users and internal staff to ensure successful implementation of AVI technologies
  • Work closely with QA team to facilitate resolution of product inquiries

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a patient care or hospital environment is highly preferred (BSN, RN, VA-BC)
  • Advanced knowledge of vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy
  • Managed or been part of core team for implementation of new clinical technology
  • Strong project planning/management, leadership, and presentation skills as well as the ability to contribute creative, practical solutions to problems is required
  • Ability to analyze data, identify and effectively communicate relevant takeaways
  • Proven ability to be an effective and timely communicator with co-workers and all levels of multidisciplinary hospital teams
  • Strong management/time management skills including ability to maintain and prioritize numerous priorities, meet deadlines, and delegate tasks as appropriate
  • Comfortable and/or experienced in meetings at the c-suite level (clinical/hospital environments) in a live and/or virtual environment
  • Highly consultative approach and skillset
  • Self-motivated, takes on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Models integrity inside and outside of workplace

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, VA-BC highly preferred. Current RN license (or advanced practice nursing license), advanced degree preferred
