Position Overview:
 
Do you love building  products people love? As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work as part of our highly collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of experience of building highly performant, business critical services using the .NET stack.
 
As a member of our Engineering Team, you'll have the chance to collaborate on exciting projects and find creative solutions to coding obstacles. Your curiosity to continue learning, as well as a knack for problem-solving 🧐, will be key to delivering innovative products to our clients and their guests, as our team members are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Location: United Kingdom; then, you choose what works for you! This role can be performed 100% remotely anywhere in the UK or from our office in Twyford, with the occasional travel to the office.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, design solutions, and develop high-quality software applications with a focus on the backend 
  • Ensuring the quality of your code automated tests  
  • Ownership of the full lifecycle of our platform, including deployment and operation in production to maintain our SLO’s 
  • Collaborate with Devops & SRE to ensure the system is automated, scalable & monitorable.  
  • Contribute to accesso’s quality, security & design decisions  
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback  
  • Assist peers with even the most difficult programming and debugging issues in a timely manner 
  • Participate in our Agile development process and meet accesso standards 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather elicit additional requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. 
  • Join the on-call rotation.

What you Bring to the Role:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Experience in .NET & service development 
  • Up to date knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our development processes & platform 
  • Experience with the Azure platform & products 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions 
  • Experience with cloud computing methodologies like high availability, scalability, fault-tolerance and resiliency 
  • Ability to estimate and deliver work to plan
⭐️  Bonus points if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a Mathematics-based discipline 
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases 
  • Good understanding of retail & hospitality PoS systems
