Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations such as general ledger accounting, tax, treasury, technical accounting, and internal controls. Their focus includes regulatory compliance and practices and collaborating with the CFO to develop financial strategies. Additionally, the Controller will be an integral member of the

WagWay Digital Transformation Initiative which includes selecting and implementing a new accounting software and modernizing certain business processes to support WagWay’s rapidly expanding scale.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as an active member of WagWay's Senior Leadership Team to help drive WagWay’s business strategy and transformations efforts to become the leading company in the Fire and Security marketplace.
  • Recruiting, managing, and developing a best-in-class accounting department
  • Partnering with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material and complex business transactions
  • Overseeing timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Overseeing all accounting operations; ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with

U.S. GAAP

  • Acting as a liaison to internal and external audit firms
  • Overseeing tax compliance and strategy in conjunction with the Tax team and the
  • Overseeing the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting and bank reporting, in partnership with the CFO
  • Helping to lead (in conjunction with the CFO and the VP of FP&A) the implementation of a new accounting software which is part of WagWay’s Digital Transformation Initiative to support its rapidly expanding scale
  • Collaborating and contributing to the Senior Leadership Team and BOD to improve overall company performance
  • Serving as the Company's technical accounting expect and updating the Audit Committee and Senior Management on changes to accounting rules and its impact on the business
  • Presenting with the CFO to the Audit Committee
  • Working with Senior Management and Corporate Development on M&A activities when
  • Partnering and sponsoring cross-functional committees to support the organizations transformation initiative and other strategic initiatives

Professional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a fast-paced team with a strategic mindset towards modernizing processes while maintaining strong financial controls
  • Demonstrated track-record of improving systems and being part of a team that help modernize processes to drive a more efficient and scalable business model; ERP implementation experience is a plus
  • High level of experience in management reporting for a Private Equity backed organization
  • High level of experience with subscription and SAAS business models and strong knowledge of ASC 606
  • Experience with capturing, analyzing, and proactively delivering financial data and insights that maximize strategic decision making
  • Experienced with communicating and presenting the financial performance and leading indicators of the company to all levels of the company including C-level executives
  • Ability to multi-task, navigate through ambiguity, and manage conflict and difficult
  • Willingness to collaborate with a broad range of functional groups and understand their business processes, concerns, and requirements
  • CPA preferred with experience at a Big 4 or next tier public accounting firm
  • Minimum BA in Accounting or Finance and CPA; MBA is highly desirable
  • Significant knowledge of GAAP
  • 8+ years demonstrated progressive responsible financial and accounting leadership roles, preferably in a B2B(2C) subscription business
