Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and collaborative Cloud Operations Lead to oversee an Azure cloud infrastructure and operations. This role involves managing cloud resources, ensuring optimal performance, and leading a team of cloud engineers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud platforms and a strong background in IT operations in support of a dynamic and engaging mission.
The Work:
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
- Oversee the deployment, management, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure across various fabrics
- Implement and monitor cloud performance metrics to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of cloud operations with overall mission objectives
- Oversee the Implementation of technical changes to supported environments with an automation-forward mindset
Here's what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cloud computing, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2-3 years in a technical leadership role
- Hands-on experience in managing Azure cloud infrastructure
- 3+ year of experience with industry standards and best practices in cloud operations and ITSM
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience implementing and supporting ITSM processes using Jira Service Management
- Experience with automation of Infrastructure (IaC - Infrastructure as Code)
- Experience with Azure Cloud, Windows Server, SQL Server, PowerShell scripting, and virtualization
- Ability to manage Azure subscriptions and resources, implement and manage storage, deploy and manage virtual machines, configure and manage virtual networks, and manage identities
- Experience with Git or similar technology
- Certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., Azure, Windows, ITIL, PMP)
- Possess a DoD 8570/8140 Certification
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
