Job Description:
An Artificial Intelligence (AI) practitioner, capable of hands-on development of the latest Machine Learning (ML) models , as well as, the ability to lead one or more delivery teams as required, in support of our Data and AI Practice. Passionate about AI and national security, with a curiosity and drive to explore new ideas and approaches. You have experience working directly with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community to deliver novel AI / ML methods at production scale. You’re up to date on the latest federal innovations in data and AI and DoD strategic initiatives to achieve world-class data capabilities within federal security and policy constraints. You constantly scan the technology industry to help clients take advantage of new tools and methods from commercial, government, and open source and have crafted expertise to differentiate meaningful solutions from the hype cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Select, train and evaluate various AI/ML methods to solve identified client problems
- Design, develop, and implement custom state of the art AI/ML techniques to include generative LLMs (e.g. GPT or ChatGPT or GPT4) and discriminative LLMs (e.g. BERT).
- Design, develop, and implement systems for AI alignment, Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) instruction models, and AI guardrails.
- Conduct rigorous tests to evaluate model performance across standardized performance benchmarks and custom evaluations
- Employ cutting edge Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to solve complex natural language problems.
- Translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for a non-technical audience.
- Evangelize AI and develop use cases of highest mission value to clients
Here's what you need:
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras) and deep learning architectures for NLP transformer models (LSTMs, and RNNs)
- Experience with generative LLM fine-tuning and prompt engineering.
- Experience with HuggingFace Transformers and other open-source NLP and NLG (natural language generation) modules (ex. LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Experience and continued interest working with Defense and Intelligence clients.
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate AI, GenAI use cases and value.
- Secret level clearance or higher.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar major.
Bonus points if you have:
- Advanced Degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) related field, with Ph.D. preferred, but not required
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Top Secret/SCI clearance
Security Clearance:
- Active Secret clearance required to start

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
