You Are:
The Azure Cloud Engineer Specialist will tackle a multitude of complex, technological cloud computing challenges sitting in the IT cloud backlog. From design, planning, management, and support - you will help AFS IT develop solutions to IT challenges, and champion our vision to get off prem and into the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within an agile team to solve complex problems in our Azure Commercial, Azure Gov, and OnPrem infrastructures
- Enjoy learning new technologies quickly and staying up to date on cloud technology
- Design and Deploy secure Cloud services in a high-performance production environment
- Support Cloud and OnPrem Infrastructure from both an Engineering and Operations prospective
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks but also work well in a cross-team environment
- Involved in workstreams where you are an active contributor and can talk to the progress and results of assigned tasks
- Work both engineering stories from an agile board and operational tasks from a ticketing queue.
Here's What You Need:
- US Citizen on US soil (required)
- 2+ years of experience in Azure Cloud implementation (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- 3+ years of experience in Windows Server administration (Server 2019, 2022 preferred)
- Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with fellow team members
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to be on call as needed.
Bonus Points if you have:
- Azure Administrator and/or Architecture Certification
- Experience migrating onprem systems to the cloud
- Experience with Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
- Experience with Azure Network, Compute and Storage systems
- Experience managing Windows Servers with Hyper-V and/or Azure ARC
- Experience with Azure Automation
- Experience with Infra as Code (Bicep preferred)
- Experience with Windows Server configuration management, performance testing, capacity management, system monitoring and alerting, update management and cost management
- Experience implementing STIGs (NIST, DISA, CIS preferred)
- Experience with On-Prem infrastructure - SAN, DAS, Host configurations
