The work:
- Develop and maintain tools for deployment, configuration, and sustainment of Linux-based operating systems (e.g., RHEL & Ubuntu) in a dynamic, highly secure environment
- Support Tier 3+ incident and problem resolution for production customers
- Provide operating system expertise to Product Owners during system hardening, deployment, and sustainment
- Mentor technical staff on advanced topics related to configuration and sustainment of Linux-based operating systems
- Collaborate with operations and security teams to maximize automation of standardized, repeatable processes
- Collaborate with Service Management team to ensure production systems are engineered to cost-effectively meet established SLAs/SLOs
- Collaborate with compliance and security leads to incorporate modern operational practices into the security program to meet the requirements of multiple regulatory/compliance frameworks securely and cost-effectively (e.g., FedRAMP, RMF, DoD Cloud SRG, SOC2)
- Develop initiatives for continual service improvement through relentless automation
Here's What You Need:
- Expert-level proficiency with RHEL installation, configuration and management within a variety of Cloud Service Provider environments
- Experience with Configuration Management Tools; proficiency with Ansible for system configurations and deployments
- Understanding of systems architecture e.g. hardware, storage systems, network components; especially the cloud native equivalents
- Understanding of one or more scripting languages (bash, ksh, python, perl, etc)
- Networking (understand DHCP, DNS, IP, routing, etc)
- Security and Compliance - Understanding of 800-53; understanding of Linux security practices (selinux, fapolicyd, FW configs, etc)
- Experience within highly regulated environments, such as U.S. Government agencies Experience with cyber security concepts and managing the balance between business objectives and security compliance
Bonus Points if You Have:
- Advanced certifications in Red Hat (e.g., RHCSA, RHCSE, RHCA)
