As an Accounts Payable lead you will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Proficiency in processing high volume of data accurately and efficiently to assist with monthly/quarterly delivery of AP reporting/critical metrics
  • Maintain documented A/P best practices, identifying inefficiencies and recommending changes for review by AP Manager
  • Maintain Accounts Payable email accounts and vendor accounts
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to entering for payment
  • Responsible for the monitoring and cleaning of the AP aging report for all entities which includes providing monthly explanation for 60+ days old invoices
  • Code and enter 300+ invoices/week into accounting system
  • Review multiple control reports and assist with urgent requests by supplying information quickly, efficiently, and accurately in an organized manner while identifying the root cause and addressing issues as needed
  • Perform monthly end close procedures, quarter-end, and year-end duties, reconcile credit card payments, including preparing accrual journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Works with external departments and vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of payments
  • Assist the AP manager with managing inquiries which involves communicating requirements with management, vendors, and business owners to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to assess and quickly escalate crucial issues to management
  • Assist with state and other year-end audits
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Vendor management
  • Other duties as assigned

About You:

  • Accounting or Finance Degree
  • 4+ Years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Great Plains experience is preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously under high pressure and within demanding time constraints
  • Aptitude to be cross-trained and contribute
