ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of Software Test Lead - Performance Engineering is centered around spearheading efforts within the Costa Rica center to ensure comprehensive performance testing coverage for ongoing Accela Civic Platform (SaaS) releases. Additionally, it entails technical initiatives aimed at advancing Accela's maturity in Test Automation, Test-Driven Development, CI/CD, and Performance Engineering. This role focuses on optimizing System Reliability, Architecture, Storage, and Deployment of Accela workloads, with a focus on benchmarking, tuning, capacity planning, and scalability.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, architect, and transform activities into a performance engineering-driven approach.
  • Foster partnerships with various teams including Development Engineering, Cloud Operations, Reliability Engineering, Quality Engineering, Security, Architecture, Professional Services, Managed Services, and Deployment Infra to scale infrastructure optimally.
  • Investigate and implement improvements in current infrastructure areas to enhance customer experience, capacity planning, and benchmark-driven automation.
  • Develop and enhance frameworks for cost planning, establishing KPIs, standards, baselines, and efficient production scaling.
  • Lead and manage Platform areas for Reliability, API infrastructure, cross-functional initiatives with automation deployment, and Performance test regressions.
  • Provide technical expertise in requirement analysis, design, effort estimation, testing, and delivery of scalable SaaS solutions, including establishing statistical and optionally machine learning models.
  • Ensure successful launches of scalable Platform Products, API gateway tuning, Mobile Performance, Engineering Initiatives, and alignment for Cloud deployments.
  • Identify gaps, issues, and proactively define, plan, and strategize activities, processes, and workflows.
  • Foster the growth of technical expertise teams in development, performance, and scalability in alignment with Agile development practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of Performance Engineering Experience.
  • Experience collaborating with Development, Site Reliability Engineering, Release Engineering, and Security to evaluate performance issues and solutions for production infrastructure.
  • Master's/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in architecting solutions for high-volume transactional Cloud deployment Systems.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure, Java Platforms, API Management, and Mobile Applications.
  • Strong debugging, monitoring, optimization skills using JMeter, Datadog, Logging tools, or similar.
  • Expert ability to identify performance issues within the J2EE/.Net architecture, Load balancers, IIS, Database (Oracle/SQL), Operating System, Network, Software (JAVA/.Net), and Hardware.
  • Hands-on experience building enterprise-level test automation and performance test suites.
  • Experience in building statistical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in fast-paced Agile environments with working knowledge of Scrum principles and methodologies; Ability to collaborate closely with clear communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in JMeter, Microsoft Azure, Datadog monitoring tool experience is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of Java-based application testing is highly desired, especially with Angular being a significant advantage.
