Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gameplay Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Gameplay Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing core gameplay systems. You will have a direct impact on the player experience by ensuring seamless interaction, fluid mechanics, and engaging gameplay loops.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain gameplay systems, features, and mechanics.
- Collaborate with designers and artists to create immersive gameplay experiences.
- Optimize gameplay code for performance and memory usage.
- Debug and fix issues related to gameplay systems and mechanics.
- Work with QA to ensure gameplay features are robust and free of bugs.
- Prototype new gameplay ideas and iterate on existing mechanics.
- Document gameplay systems and provide technical support to the team.
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in gameplay programming within the video game industry.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal engine or other large-scale game engine architecture.
- Strong math background.
- Experience with AI, physics, and animation systems.
- Solid understanding of game design principles and player experience.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Plus if...
- Experience with networked multiplayer gameplay systems.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Lua.
- Previous work on AAA titles.
- Experience with Unreal 5.

The base pay range for this position is $170,000 to $210,000 per year. Actual compensation is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer a competitive package of benefits including paid time off, sick time, company holidays, parental leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
