Overview
The Director of Clinical Services reports directly to the VP of Clinical Services and is responsible for the daily oversight of the clinical services department. The Director oversees all daily functions related to clinical service delivery, and designs and implements strategies that align with business goals. This includes but is not limited to implementing effective strategies to improve efficiency across the clinical organization, direct performance management of senior clinical staff, ensuring that participant care is of the highest quality across the growing AbleTo provider community, and identifying and responding to opportunities to improve and refine operational processes as we rapidly scale the clinical services organization. The ideal candidate has strong operational skills which includes implementing complex operational processes from inception to evaluation, understands the importance of data in decision making, and has the skills to both utilize data to take action and tell a data story which can convince key stakeholders to take action, has strong people management skills, has experience managing and scaling large teams, has strong ability to work effectively with cross-departmental stakeholders, and is passionate about maintaining high quality participant services.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, direct and evaluate activities within the clinical services department that align with business goals. This includes scaling operational and clinical processes to create efficiency and meet business needs within the growing organization. An example includes tracking and evaluating staff utilization and implementing sustainable strategies for clinical services staff.
- Use data to identify trends or issues impacting quality and operations and surface insights to leadership across the organization. Conduct root cause analyses to understand underlying drivers and develop and implement initiatives in collaboration with partners across the organization
- Provide daily oversight and direction of AbleTo Clinical Leadership in order to ensure that clinical support, coaching, training and performance management to a large team of Advisory staff and the national community of AbleTo providers is efficient and of high quality
- Train new AbleTo clinical leadership, work to retain high performers and implement performance management plans with those in need of support.
- Provide oversight to the clinical leadership to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed by all members of the team
- Identify process, resource or system issues that impact quality of care delivery and operational effectiveness, escalate these opportunities appropriately, and work across departments to find and implement solutions
- Ensure flawless execution of strategic initiatives across the clinical team in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization
- Contribute to additional projects related to company strategy and growth; to be determined through discussion with VP of Clinical Services and SVP of Clinical Network and Operations
Who You Are:
- You have 7+ years of management experience in a healthcare organization with at least 3-5 years of experience as a director or above; behavioral health experience preferred
- You hold a Masters degree related to behavioral health or health care function; Current clinical license preferred (LCSW or equivalent)
- You have strong knowledge of health information related to adult health and mental health
- You have strong operational expertise including implementing, evaluating and scaling complex operational processes
- You understand the importance of data in decision making, and you have the skills to both utilize data to take action and tell a data story which can convince key stakeholders to take action
- You are adept at project management, and you can keep yourself and others organized through a complex process
- You have strength in leading large teams through change
- You have the ability to plan, execute, evaluate results and improve on a continual basis
- You have discipline and organization to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- You thrive in team environments demonstrating collaborative communication skills and engagement
- You are accepting of feedback and open to guidance from others
- You have strong leadership qualities that support the growth and professional development of others
- You have the ability to work independently and take initiative
- You have high energy and positive ambition to grow within the role, and are excited about being part of a high growth, innovative organization
- You have a balance of curiosity, humility and assertiveness
- You have strong professional written and verbal communication skills, presentation, attitude, and demeanor
- You are passionate about reducing barriers to mental health care access nationwide, and supporting clinical staff across the country to provide high quality mental health care
