Making healthcare awesome is key to everything we do at Abarca, and so the Strategy to Execution team helps us reach those heights through service design, project and process improvement, and strategy planning! From Project and Process Improvement to Innovation and Business Enabling to Strategic Management, this team tackles existing and innovative programs or processes at Abarca to rethink, reshape and rework how we do what we do. Within this team members of the Business Enabling teams are personally invested in projects and goals.

As a Portfolio & Data Visualization Analyst, you’ll partner with internal business areas to provide the necessary data to identify opportunities and find better solutions. You’ll design and develop reporting and analytic solutions, converting project specifications, problem statements, and process requirements into interactive user interfaces. This visualization solution will also play a critical role in analyzing processes, identifying areas of improvement, and monitoring the performance of new processes and their key performance indicators (KPIs).  You’ll also partner with the Portfolio Manager to help us optimize the delivery of our strategic projects and programs.

In this role, you’ll occasionally manage approved projects from conception through completion, including scope, time, and budget, following our Project Management and Process Improvement methodology. You will be accountable for each assigned project and must document the status, agreements, and “learnings” from all meetings and presentations.

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Develop, validate, and execute complex data sourcing and transformation; develop advanced reports and dashboards and share data insights that could help answer project and process improvement questions; interpret results and recommend findings to the team.
  • Evaluate the data needs of assigned initiatives, assure data integrity and suitability, and determine metrics definitions and data collection and evaluation methods.
  • Search, gather, and organize data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for project, process, or portfolio optimization.
  • Present analysis and reports to business partners, internal customers, and stakeholders.
  • Be a mentor to other Business partners, particularly in Power BI functionality and capabilities.
  • Evaluate current monitoring solution processes and identify possible enhancement options for new monitoring functionality or modifications to the existing ones.
  • Work collaboratively with business partners, SMEs, and other internal customers and leaders to ensure a shared understanding of business requirements.
  • Ensure monitoring solution options are thoroughly researched, analyzed, and documented.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure and improve the portfolio's performance, value, health, and alignment. Examples of optimization processes include health checks.
  • Prepare and present reports and dashboards on the portfolio status, progress, performance, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the project portfolio manager in developing and implementing portfolio management processes, policies, and standards.
  • Administrate project management tools and support the team in troubleshooting issues with them.
  • Continuously monitor and update internal dashboards to reflect real-time project and process performance.
  • Work with the sponsor to define the scope, develop implementation plans, manage milestones, and develop and carry out appropriate communication plans with stakeholders; you also develop relationships with cross-functional partners and align project timelines to ensure they are completed by meeting client needs.
  • Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, direct and monitor day-to-day tasks, identify resources needed, and appropriately escalate functional, resource, and timeline issues.
  • Keep track of key milestones and adjust plans and resources to meet client needs.
  • Schedule and monitor project deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication with all areas that impact the project's scope, budget, risk, and resources.
  • Manage and update the project plan using the Microsoft Project tool and inform the team of the status and deliverables.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports to management and clients.
  • Provide oversight and leadership in executing projects from planning to completion to provide results to the business.

What you’re made of

The bold requirements…

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in computer science or related degree (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.)
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence & Analytics (Data Visualization and Analysis).
  • Experience with SQL and Business Intelligence Platforms, specifically Power BI.
  • Experience with end-to-end business intelligence solutions development to include one or more of the following areas: data visualization and dashboard development with direct experience in Power BI; advanced Power BI functionality and features (e.g., Power BI server, data transformation, data gateway, row-level security, custom visuals, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products to aid in project management such as, Excel, Microsoft Project and Project Server.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only)

Nice to haves…

  • Experience with healthcare, pharmacy, Medicare Part D, and CMS regulations.
  • PMI Credential (CAPM, PMP, PMI-ACP), and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Physical requirements…

  • Must access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
