POSITION OVERVIEW

The Retail Trade Marketing Manager will support all marketing activities to drive retail sales for HALF MAGIC Beauty brand. Working with the VP of Sales, the Trade Marketing Manager will act as the conduit between the Sales and Marketing teams to drive and support all trade marketing activity for the brand, including execution in-store, online and all omnichannel programs. Most importantly, the Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for tailoring marketing campaigns to specific retailers’ needs, identifying the white space opportunity in each retailer and ensuring all campaigns have a successful, timely 360º omnichannel execution.

With ULTA Beauty being the largest retail partner, it is critical to have at least 4 years of experience working on ULTA trade marketing for a brand, preferably in makeup.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Account Management

  • Foster strong retailer partnerships and act as the day-to-day retail marketing lead for key stakeholders
  • Evaluate sales for shade productivity and make recommendations on assortment and discontinuations
  • Responsible for project management for all seasonal endcap planogram updates and secondary merchandising with strategic briefs kicking off the process cross functionally with internal and external partners to meet all respective deadlines
  • Develop a robust and custom trade marketing plan for all sampling activations with the focus on acquiring new consumers. Apply data driven analysis to recommend future sampling programs.
  • Responsible for delivery of samples by working cross functionally with demand planning/planning team to ensure timeliness of shipments. Input all sampling programs into retailer platform on a monthly basis and always reaching for 100% accuracy of phasing
  • Understand and be able to report on category and performance and mix-of-business results. Support VP of Sales in tracking weekly sales and of OOS skus and identifying retail sales impact

Retail Marketing (CRM, Social, 360 Planning)

  • Create and implement marketing planning tools, including retail marketing calendar, retailer-facing marketing materials, seasonal retailer presentation planning (including deck and materials)
  • Strategically plan the business calendar, including promotion, sampling, in-store visuals, and eventing for the omni business
  • Support Social team in executing brand-led retailer social strategy to increase retailer share of voice within HALF MAGIC-owned brand channels
  • Drive loyalty for the brand within retailer scope, including but not limited to CRM Points offers, loyalty program and identifying strategic audience segments and programs for targeting

Retailer.com

  • Monthly audit of retailer.com pages with findings on (included but not limited to) pricing, assets, copy, video. Optimize SEO keywords to ensure copy on P-pages has highest conversion assets and search terms
  • Partner with marketing and creative to create wish list for assets for paid and organic campaigns, PDPs and on-site merchandising and other digital assets
  • Project manage and help support digital team to fill out new item launch forms (NIFs), add/deletes, upload assets to the portal for timely publishing of all NPD deliverables.

Events/Education

  • Support annual educational plan, starting with briefing the creative development of education videos and modules (DMT, N&N), working with internal creative and Agency
  • Competitive analysis of other brands’ education in store and online for best practices
  • Work closely on Corporate store Events/Education moments (such as personal appearance and masterclass) to ensure all activations are executed successfully in store within brand and retailer guidelines

Experience & Qualifications

  • This is a hybrid role, based in West Hollywood with specific required days/hours in the office.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience working on ULTA trade marketing for a brand, preferably in makeup.
  • Very strong analytic and quantitative skills, must be able to decipher a lot of data into a cohesive action plan
  • Branding/ social media/ Beauty/ Fashion/ Entertainment experience a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines with diligent follow-up
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable presenting in small to large business settings
  • Experience with digital media and driving commercial outcomes with social media tools
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence others
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, start up environment and balance competing priorities, as well as the ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves to ensure successful execution
  • Ability to travel as needed (~20-30%)

Our target compensation range for this role is between $90,000 and $130,000 annually. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, competitive healthcare, as well as other employee benefits.
