Content & Communications Manager
This is a hybrid position requiring three days in the office per week. HQ is in New York City.
Convene is seeking a talented Content & Communications Manager to join its global Marketing Team. The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism, media, or publishing and will serve as the lead writer across multiple mediums for the Convene portfolio of brands. This position will sit on the Brand & Communications Team and work closely with the Performance Marketing Team to support Demand Generation and Regional Marketing efforts. The Content & Communications Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Brand & Communications.
What You’ll Do: The Content & Communications Manager is a storyteller at heart and will champion the Convene portfolio of brands and company leaders through the written word. Comfortable adapting writing style and tone to suit different platforms, audiences, and/or brand voices, this role will be responsible for managing the company’s editorial and content calendar, including social media, and supporting copywriting/copyediting across the entire Commercial function.
Overview:
- Ability to emulate the brand voice(s) of Convene, etc.venues, and/or bespoke partnership brand identities in all written materials and follow a writing style guide
- Editorial strategy and calendar development for Catalyst, the Convene blog. Build an internal “newsroom” to generate story ideas and write/produce 8-10+ blogs per month
- Act as a “reporter,” conducting research and/or interviewing several “sources” across the organization to craft stories that showcase Convene’s leading industry knowledge
- Lead the development and execution of case studies for Meeting & Event clients, WorkPlace members, and Landlord partners
- Social media content calendar development and ongoing social media management and implementation
- Manage writing sponsored content and/or partner content
- Manage drafting award nominations and submissions
- Support copywriting for global marketing campaigns, web pages, sales enablement collateral, email marketing, and more
- Serve as lead copyeditor reviewing content written by the greater Commercial Team, including website copy, landing pages, email marketing, print collateral, and more
- Assist with messaging development and internal rollout plans, as needed
- Assist with coordination of media interviews and preparation, as needed
- Creative collaboration on global and regional campaign development
- Liaise with digital marketing agency to optimize blog content for SEO
- Measure performance results and use data/analytics to inform and iterate on content strategies
What We Look For:
- Experience in journalism, media, public relations, or publishing highly preferred
- Experience managing social media channels for a professional brand highly preferred
- Critical thinker with a track record of developing and executing savvy strategic plans
- Strong writing skills and the capability to craft simple yet compelling narratives
- Proven ability to thoughtfully incorporate company messaging into content strategies
- A knack for simplifying complex ideas into digestible yet engaging content pieces
- A business-minded yet creative, organized, and highly motivated individual
- Excellent grammar and attention to detail
- Capable of capturing a range of writing styles, content types, and/or tones
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills. Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to take initiative while also being a team player
- Ability to maintain top-quality work in a high-volume environment
- Experience in meeting/event, hospitality, or commercial real estate industry a plus
- Experience managing an external agency a plus
- Proficiency in WordPress, Sprout Social, Later, Hootsuite, and/or Google Analytics a plus
- Must be able to provide writing samples upon request

Base Salary:
Salary Min: $80,000 Salary Max: $90,000
This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
