Your Role and Impact
The DevOps team at 98point6 is central to our engineering team and trusted counsel for the company. As DevOps Manager, you will be responsible for growing and managing a team of engineers building infrastructure, services, tools and reusable components with the goal of enabling the entire engineering organization to manage and operate their own infrastructure in accordance with industry best practices and within our controlled development process.
Recruit, manage and develop a diverse group of engineers at all levels
Develop team members in alignment with their needs and goals
Prioritize DevOps team work based on business and customer needs, operational debt and risk
Support operational excellence across the engineering team through regular operational reviews, leading and participating in incident retrospectives with root cause analysis and defining and driving to KPIs
Drive technical and process improvements with measurable impact on engineering team and company
Lead and support operational review and root cause analysis and identify actions to address and prioritize with appropriate alacrity based on business and customer needs
3+ years experience as an engineering or DevOps manager
Experience growing and developing an engineering team
BA or MA in computer science, math or equivalent experience
Experience designing and coding in Java, C#, Python or similar language for production services that operate on public internet
Experience using AWS to build production infrastructure and operate at scale
Experience running mission-critical, 24/7 systems
Proven experience authoring technical design documents, project plans and incident retrospectives with root cause analysis
