We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Media Engineering team as part of the Quality Engineering group. The Media Engineering team is focused on designing, building, and testing software solutions in collaboration with other 84.51˚ teams.
You will play a role designing, executing, and improving testing solutions to our software products. It will require you to collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, software engineers, and data scientists across the organization. The successful candidate will be an innovative, eager to learn software engineer that has a relentless focus on contributing to build reliable and performant software.
What you will do:
- Participate in the estimation process of new work.
- Work with Data Scientists, Engineers, Experience Design, and Product talent to ensure the testing projects are providing value to the platform(s).
- Develop and Execute Test Cases to validate the proper operation of internal and client facing applications
- Identify Bugs in applications and manage the bug elimination process
- Develop Test Automation for high priority Test Cases
- Integrate Test Automation in CI/CD Pipelines
- Develop and manage Application Monitoring Systems
- Develop and manage Load and Stress Testing on critical systems
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher and relevant certifications in a subject related to software development and technology.
- 1+ year(s) of experience working in engineering organizations.
- Experience with any of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Java, or Python.
- Experience with sustainable engineering practices such as automated testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and monitoring / alerting.
- Experience with version control, preferably Git. (Branching and Pull Request Processes)
- Foundational knowledge and skills in cloud technologies and trends.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Critical thinker with an emphasis on identifying and classifying solutions
Preferred skills:
- Playwright Testing Framework (Or similar JavaScript-based framework)
- Identifying Positive and Negative Path Functionality Tests
- GitHub Actions Workflow Development
- Datadog Observability
- Frontend UI/UX Development

Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must be able to come into the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week. We have locations in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, Deerfield, IL, New York, NY, and Portland, OR.
