SUMMARY:

The Director Engineering – Media AdTech will lead our third party integrated solutions to design and solve real customer problems in way that meets the needs of the business. You will work with your key stakeholders and partners to build the right things for our customers that deliver value to our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring feasibility – that we can build and have the right skills, time, and technology to do so
  • Adtech/Martech domain expertise; experience in developing media solutions; particularly retail media
  • Inspirational leadership – Comfortable organizing and rallying teams against an aligned objective; a servant leader that builds sustainable, empowered teams
  • Stakeholder management – highly skilled in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive collaborative agreement with product, data science, and other cross functional business partners
  • Advanced level knowledge in the development of engineering metrics to show sustained success – both quantitative and qualitative
  • Deep understanding of the business domain, stakeholders, business processes and constraints in which your product(s) play
  • Highly skilled in making priority decisions based on measurable value, given the usability, feasibility and viability
  • Translate organization objectives, strategies and solution needs to the team to facilitate results (where collaborative/as colleague, or as a people leader)
  • Highly skilled in leading Discovery Process sessions with key stakeholders
  • Ability to translate a technology initiative into a business outcome
  • Focus on outcomes (over outputs), problems to solve, the goals of your product and key metrics of success; give teams the freedom and responsibility to think of a strategy they believe will result in the best product for our clients; facilitate teams in setting up a process that supports them in building these products
  • Lead the development, championing and evangelizing of a tech strategy and roadmap for the product(s) you own, based on the needs of the business
  • Lead integration of third-party capabilities / APIs into the product
  • Manage vendor/partner relationships

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years relevant engineering experience, including leading teams and people
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices a must. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in: APIs, Microservices, CI/CD, SRE concepts.

Media / Adtech specific experience:

Minimum 2-4 years experience in areas similar to the following:

  • Product Development
    • Preferably on the demand side (DMP, DSP)
    • But secondarily on the supply side (SSP, Exchange, Ad Server)
  • AI, ML Engineering (for adtech and datatech)
  • Signal Pattern Recognition & Algorithmic Optimization
  • Media Strategy & Planning
  • Audience Strategy & Planning
  • Audience Insight & Analysis
  • Programmatic Media Trading
  • Social Media Trading
  • Media Account Management
  • Campaign Reporting

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Highly skilled in managing cross-functional software development teams in an agile environment
  • Highly skilled in managing business priorities against design/user needs while delivering against product roadmaps
  • Highly skilled in managing end-to-end software product development and releases
  • Stakeholder management skills – highly skilled in building and managing VP and Director level stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results; recovers quickly from setbacks
  • Exhibits qualities of and have proven to be a great teammate
