Overview of Role

66degrees is seeking a senior contractor to engage on a 6-month remote assignment with the potential to convert permanently. Interested candidates should have the following required skills and the ability to work independently and within a team environment. 

Requirements

  • Identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the Google ecosystem to deliver business growth and resolve blockers.
  • Lead requirements gathering and project scoping. Solution design, problem-solving, and architecture diagramming. 
  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology.
  • Provide recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure needed to implement a complete solution for clients.
  • Lead planning, status, and standup meetings.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of GCP experience is required; Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is desirable
  • 2+ years as a GCP Architect.
  • Extensive experience in security, networking, and identity management within cloud environments. 
  • Skilled in implementing hybrid connectivity using VPN or Cloud Interconnect. 
  • Proficient in designing and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and roles in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 
  • Knowledgeable in network architecture, including VPC design, subnetting, and firewall rules. Experienced with identity federation and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
  • Experience in guiding, building, architecting, designing, and implementing GCP Infrastructure while adhering to best practices.
  • Extensive experience with security (zero trust) and networking in cloud environments.
  • Capable of advising and implementing CI/CD practices to clients using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Cloud Build, and Cloud Deploy and concepts such as GitOps and GitFlow.
  • Experience with structured Cloud Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of technology solutions and ability to learn emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, engage and influence audiences.
  • Proven ability to train and knowledge transfer on GCP best practices, tools and technologies as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer-facing communication.
  • Proficiency in documentation and knowledge transfer using remote meetings, written documents, and technical diagrams slide decks.
  • Experience in implementing hybrid connectivity using VPN or Cloud Interconnect is a plus.
  • Background in professional services/consulting

Desired skills

  • GCP Architect Certification, other certifications for Google, Kubernetes, or Terraform is a plus.
