Overview of Role

66degrees is seeking an Director- Technical Product Owner to engage on a 6 month remote contract-to-hire opportunity for one of our clients in the insurance domain.

We are looking for an agile product owner / manager leader to partner with business and technology teams through its exciting next growth phase.  The Digital, Technical Product Manager role will be charged with leading agile squads and, defining long and short term product vision, roadmap and requirements.  The role will require strong partnership with the SVP, Digital Technical Product Owner and team, Partner GTM team, Product Design, Application Development teams, Solutions team, and PMO functions. You will bring a track record of success in defining, building and delivering products that customers love.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the senior Solutions and Product teams, Strategic Partner GTM team, the internal development teams, and our Agile sprint teams to create and translate business roadmaps and capabilities into tangible technical implementations
  • Serve as the product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community on the needs, requirements and future strategies of our Customers and Partners to include within our overall VIU product
  • Drive communication and vision between the business, development, platform, data, and operations teams
  • Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements for future sprints
  • Iterate on the existing effectiveness of the organization, making the hard decisions to enable our team to capitalize on opportunities to impact our customer experience positively
  • Partner with our internal and external marketing teams to translate consumer buying trends into future platform actions and benefits
  • Understand upcoming technology trends and how they impact the Roadmap
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly
  • Assess and address technical risks related to the overall platform.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper technical product documentation as needed with the team

Qualifications

  • Strong vision and background in digital technical product capability and market insights in the B2C, B2B and B2B2C space
  • At least 15 years of technical and/or product development with minimum 10 years in a software product owner role (or a product manager or technical manager with hands on experience managing backlogs and collaborating with developers).  At least 3-5 years of direct management experience leading product owners.
  • Experience building and managing high engagement digital consumer products and features on a flexible, services-based, API platform is a big plus
  • Managed product backlog and story refinement meetings
  • Prioritized the implementation of new features to maximize business value and set specific release timelines
  • Experienced with development and project management tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to build relationship with external customers / partners and users to determine requirements and priorities and validate output of development team sprints
  • Attention to detail and deadline-focused
  • Experience or familiarity with tokenization, AI, Mobile, React, Python is a plus
  • Strong user and stakeholder focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable having product and technical discussions with both internal and external developers and UX teams
  • Experience in team environments, working in Agile teams of developers, quality engineers and project managers
  • Ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
