Overview of Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design, develop, and maintain our multi-cloud data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data engineering, and cloud technologies, with experience in managing data across multiple cloud platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a scalable and secure multi-cloud data architecture that supports the organization's data needs.
  • Develop data models, data warehouses, and data lakes that are optimised for performance and scalability.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and big data technologies to move and transform data between different cloud platforms.
  • Evaluate and select cloud-native tools and services for data processing, storage, and analytics.
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and metadata management across multiple clouds.
  • Develop and execute cloud migration strategies and tools for moving data and workloads between clouds.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to ensure that data is used effectively to support the organization's goals.

Qualifications:

  • Multi-Cloud Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of at least two major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) and their data services.
  • Data Architecture: Strong foundation in data modeling, warehousing, and data lake concepts.
  • Data Engineering: Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and big data technologies.
  • Cloud-Native Technologies: Proficiency in cloud-native tools and services for data processing, storage, and analytics.
  • Data Governance: Understanding of data quality, security, compliance, and metadata management across multiple clouds.
  • Cloud Migration: Knowledge of migration strategies and tools for moving data and workloads between clouds.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data or related or equivalent work experience required.
