60 Decibels is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor Acumen.

We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change.

We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1000+ trained research assistants in 75+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our research assistants speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience; and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance.

By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we not only enable organizations to improve their products and services; we also help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story.

About the Role

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven, B2B company working with the world’s leading impact investors, companies, foundations and nonprofits who are looking to create positive social impact. If you're similarly passionate about our mission and excited about the opportunity to help grow a dynamic business, we're looking for a Research Operations Associate based in Latin America to join our team.

The Research Operations Associate will manage the Research Assistants (RA) ‘employee’ lifecycle which includes onboarding and offboarding RAs, staffing, managing feedback and payment systems, overseeing performance management, and designing new training and development programs to enable team members to grow and improve.

More specifically, the Research Operations Associate will:

  • Continuously execute, iterate, and improve on all aspects of the Research Assistant lifecycle from the initial reviewing of candidate applications and onboarding, handling administration of performance management issues, project staffing, payment and invoices, and communication with Research Assistants in Latin America
  • Fulfilling staffing requests from project teams on a daily basis, matching available Research Assistants to projects; liaising with project teams to understand project demands and staff Research Assistants who are best suited
  • Identify project execution challenges (language, technical proficiency) and solutions, both for live project troubleshooting and longer-term systemic solutions
  • Support with managing feedback systems, respond to Research Assistant requests and/or inquiries, field requests in the Research Operations inbox, investigate and resolve issues when raised, and serve as the Research Assistant experience ambassador
  • Support with performance management processes, conduct investigations for performance issues/code of conduct violations, and coach team members on our company policies and philosophy
  • Manage the invoice process by reviewing and completing payment requests and ensuring all Research Assistants are paid appropriately
  • Identify growth opportunities for Research Assistants globally including designing and implementing training programs with deep dives on technical areas and developing growth trajectory 'paths' for research assistant that aligns with business needs
  • Liaise with Latin America outsourcing partners, including getting quotes, doing initial vetting, and processing invoices
