POSITION

540 is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to help the DoD modernize an Air Force training platform. This role can be 100% remote anywhere in the continental US. You’ll be part of a small Agile team working to help integrate data across a half a dozen or more components of a Pilot Training platform.  You will work to stand up and manage multiple non-production and production environments in a repeatable way which includes managing the core platform as well as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.  You will be a member of a LEAN DevSecOps team focused on security and reliability where you will secure/maintain infrastructure, and work with the developers and solutions architecture to build, deploy, and monitor all applications.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of related technical experience 
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or another related field
  • In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience administering Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS)
  • Experience with Git and the GitFlow development workflow
  • Experience deploying applications using various tech stacks (Node.js, Java, .NET)
  • Experience creating and maintaining architecture diagrams (Network, System, etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and on a cross-functional team
  • Ability to learn quickly and “become an expert” on something that you don’t have previous knowledge/experience on
  • Must have or be able to quickly obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Must have or be able to quickly obtain a CompTIA Linux+ certification
  • Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • (Highly Valued) Experience with Apigee (or comparable API Management Platform)
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL Database technologies (including data backup strategies)
  • Experience working on an agile development project
  • Experience with securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines)
  • Experience with testing, debugging, and performance analysis using dev tools
  • Experience deploying applications in DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy.
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
