The General Laborer - Pallet Sorter is responsible for sorting wooden pallets by hand, separating damaged pallets, and assessing the quality of unfinished pallets among other similar responsibilities. The Pallet Sorter is an entry level position that we use to fill higher paying piece rate positions that can earn more than $30.00/hr and involve building, repairing, and dismantling pallets. High performers will be offered positions in these areas as they become available.
Responsibilities and Expectations
100% hand sort of mixed stacks of pallets
Separate damaged pallets from ready to go pallets
Identify the difference between pallet grades and separate them accordingly
Experience and Qualifications
Must be able to lift, pull, and push wooden pallets that can weigh more than 50lbs continuously for an 8 hour shift
Must be comfortable working in a labor-intensive manufacturing environment
Must be able to stand, lift, twist, and move for long periods of time
Understands basic ergonomic principles involved in safe lifting
Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Reliable Transportation to and from work
Ability to work a full 40 hour a week schedule without disruption
