About The Role

We are looking for a software engineer with experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems. You will participate in the discovery, design and engineering of multiple cross-functional projects, and help troubleshoot complex business and production issues as they arise. You will uphold industry best practices and will help encourage our team to continuously improve. Above all, you care about delivering quality software in a sustainable and timely manner and about software craftsmanship.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Write maintainable, performant code
  • Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability
  • Conduct exploratory and automated testing
  • Efficiently debug complex problems
  • Lead technical design of applications and participate in larger system design efforts
  • Provide technical guidance and feedback to other team-members
  • Deploy code to multiple environments
  • Plan and estimate development tasks and short-term projects
  • Relate your project deliverables to products you are building and strategy behind them
  • Advocate for end user needs in software you are building
  • Collaborate with product team (product managers, business analysts) to define and refine requirements
  • Participate in application and system level technical design 
  • Conduct technical interviews

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 4+ years of Experience
  • Python (preferred)
  • Working with distributed systems
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Hands-on SQL, Databases and key value stores like MySQL or Redis
  • AWS services: S3, Lambda, Data Pipeline, Glue
  • Scheduling Tools like Jenkins, Airflow, Argo
  • Queuing systems like AWS SQS or RabbitMQ
  • Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Mesos
  • Monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog or Prometheus

Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

  • Data analytics tools (Tableau, Qlik)
  • Salesforce CRM (API)
  • React/NodeJS
