What We Are Looking For
Gearbox Software is looking for a full-time Generalist Programmer to join our development team. As a member of the programming team, they will assist with a wide array of engineering tasks ranging from gameplay programming to console development. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
Responsibilities
- Maintain live codebases
- Enhance existing features
- Implement and design new systems
- Interact with external partners to gather, interpret, and discuss design requirements
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teammates
Qualifications
- Computer Science degree and/or 2+ years experience in professional software development
- Experience on a shipped PC/console title
- Excellent debugging skills
- Ability to design flexible, extendible, and performant software
- Professionalism in representing the company to external partners
- Strong creative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for developing high-quality software
- A strong interest in all parts of game development
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine
- Background in multiplayer games
- Console development experience
- At least one title shipped on console
