Our Austin studio is looking for a Senior Game Designer for the next iteration of the WWE 2K franchise. In this role, you’ll contribute to the architecture of combos and archetypes that will accurately represent the unique moveset of the WWE Superstar in our game. You’ll help ensure that the WWE Universe is depicted accurately when it comes to Match Types, moveset and signature flair of every WWE Superstar. You’ll work in a creative environment with a diverse team of designers, artists, and engineers, touching everything from movesets to cameras to the emotion and spectacle of one of the greatest shows on Earth.
What You Will Do:
Craft and balance authentic move-sets for WWE superstars
Play and reference both classics and contemporaries to build on what works and help drive new innovations in combat design
Tune Core Combat systems to a variety of Match Types and modes
Immerse yourself in WWE broadcasts and develop a strong intuition for the mechanics of a wrestling match
Who Will Be A Great Fit:
5+ years of experience designing for combat systems at a Senior level or higher
A burning passion for the WWE universe!
Experience with a modern 3D game engine such as Unity or Unreal
Literacy and understanding of wrestling games, and their distinctions from traditional fighters/brawlers
Experience working across teams, including animation, art, VFX, audio and engineering to produce a great result
Experience conceiving and differentiating characters, developing signature moves, and balancing asymmetrical fighter types
