We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to design software and web experiences that help scientists make life-changing discoveries and advance human health. Our products, used by all of the top 100 academic institutions and all of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, allow researchers to understand differences at the individual cell level and develop solutions like targeted disease therapy, modified immune cells, and more. As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll work on complex product challenges and develop novel designs for our web, data analysis, and instrument software products.

What you will be doing

Drive the design of impactful and innovative features that accelerate scientific research across the world. Your work will directly accelerate the speed of disease-curing discoveries.
Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and QA to deliver high-quality features. We have a modern tech stack, built on React, Go, and Typescript.
Create concepts, prototypes, and interface designs in Figma, contributing to our 10x Design System.
Conduct user research sessions to gather insights into user needs, pain points, and usability improvements.
Take part in shaping strategy and roadmaps across our software portfolio.

What we’re looking for

You enjoy working on complex UX challenges.
You think design extends beyond just the screen and enjoy thinking about holistic user workflows.
You have a generalist skillset, love to learn and share new things, and enjoy working with other generalists.
You have some technical skills and enjoy making use of them.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
3 years of experience in product design or a related field

Preferred skills and experience

Experience designing and shipping software products.
Hands-on experience conducting usability testing and other forms of user experience research.
Knowledge of software development and data visualization.
Ability to manage competing priorities, balance business objectives and user needs, efficiently meet timelines, and drive work to completion.
Ability to understand, empathize, and communicate with customers.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, both verbal and written.

Below is the U.S. base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program. During the hiring process, your 10x recruiter can share the specific base pay range for your preferred location and more about the Company’s total compensation package.
