The Director, Inside Sales is accountable for leading and managing the Inside Sales team to achieve and exceed business objectives within the AMR region. Two functions will exist under this leader: Account Management team for Emerging Customers and our Sales Development team. This role will be directly responsible for the creation and oversight, of the execution of sales strategies focused on driving benchtop instruments and consumables sales for all company platforms (Chromium, Visium, and Xenium). Additionally, this role will ensure the effective management of customer relationships and guarantees exceptional customer experiences, continuous engagement, and service renewals.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for the direction, support and motivation of the AMR Inside Sales team to meet or exceed sales goals as defined by the annual plan/budget
- Build Inside Sales capabilities across Inside Sales Account Manager and Sales Development teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Set clear targeting strategy, identifying data and tool needs.
- Establish and execute strategies for new customer acquisition and growth goal attainment.
- Monitor and optimize lead generation campaigns to ensure maximum ROI.
- Ensure a high level of collaboration with cross functional teams, including Academic Account Executives, Xenium Sales Executives, Science & Technology Advisors and Service teams, to help meet regional sales targets.
- Lead cross functional initiatives and collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales strategies.
- Develop and implement training plans to ensure the team has the necessary expertise and provide coaching and development to the team.
- Foster a high-performance culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Hold continuous performance discussions and provide real-time, candid, and constructive feedback and coaching to enhance individual and team performance
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
- 10+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in the academic, life sciences, or biotechnology industries
- 8+ years in Sales leadership and people management experience, with a proven track record of leading teams that meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology and its applications in research and diagnostic settings
- Familiarity with CRM tools and systems
- In-depth knowledge of lead generation techniques and tools. Ability to design and optimize lead generation processes.
- Confidence in making decisions and recommendations using a data-driven mindset, leveraging change management skills and delivering an exceptional customer experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong presentation, documentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills on both technical and non-technical topics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, target-driven environment
Below is the base pay range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.
