Overview

The Client & Business Development team is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, the coverage and growth of Corporate and VIP clients, maintaining existing business relationships with our partners in the region, conducting competitive market analysis, and enhancement of brand recognition.

This role will be part of that global team, initially focusing on Chinese-speaking clients in APAC. On a regional level they will work closely with other teams to provide insight and feedback about products and features on the platform. They will also be responsible for providing comprehensive information and analysis to the Head of Business Development. 

The position will also work with the Communications team to assist in managing our social media channels covering the Chinese-speaking client base. This may include article publications, announcements and social media monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide account coverage for our top tier clients and increase the trading volumes of those clients on BitMEX through enhanced relationships
  • Foster new relationships and onboard clients in the region
  • Build partnerships with third party trading platforms
  • Ensure compliance of all local regulations and restrictions are met
  • Maintain an expert level of understanding of the platform and products to provide knowledgeable support to top clients and potential partners both externally and internally
  • Maintain an expert level of understanding of the crypto-market landscape
  • Monitor social media activities in the region
  • Ability to produce regular meaningful reports to management

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in business development within fintech, consulting at a top consultancy, or sales/trading at a top financial institution
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience in the cryptocurrency market
  • Fluency in English and Chinese at a business level, both written & verbal; fluency in other languages is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful and self-motivated, with the ability to think outside the box
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and able to create thoughtful presentations and data-driven reports
  • Passionate about the crypto industry and enjoys trading
  • Ability to multi-task, handle deadlines and result-oriented
  • Must be comfortable with networking
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • University Degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a similar discipline
