We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to help arrange and manage partnerships with consumer internet companies, ad agencies, ad tech vendors, social media analytics platforms, and anyone else that can help us add value for Tumblr’s users and advertisers. This is a role for someone who can work with lots of people all at once, both within Tumblr and outside of it, without losing their cool.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify, execute, and manage product partnerships and commercial relationships that drive user growth, produce new creative opportunities for the Tumblr community, and open new revenue streams.

  • Maintain relationships with existing partners, and develop new relationships with prospective ones.

  • Facilitate partnership negotiations in conjunction with the appropriate teams here at Tumblr.

  • Identify and track success metrics for each deal so we can make decisions based on data, not just feelings.  

  • Get buy-in and support for new and existing partnerships from Leadership, Product, Sales, Legal, Engineering and other teams across Tumblr.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3-5 years' experience with partner/account management at a consumer internet or media company. Prior industry experience at a professional services/management consulting firm also welcome.  

  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiations skills.

  • Ability to interpret legal documents and work with attorneys on contract language.

  • Industry knowledge and a solid understanding of Tumblr's competitive landscape.

  • Someone we can trust to represent Tumblr to the outside world.

  • Someone who uses Tumblr and is passionate about the community.

  • Smarts, humility, and equal willingness to learn and teach.

  • Self-starter who’s willing to take initiative and seek out new opportunities.
