Manager, Growth Marketing - Velocity Team

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Manager of Growth Marketing to lead our dynamic new velocity team. The Manager of Growth Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing innovative strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a passion for experimentation, and a track record of driving measurable results in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and data-driven environment.

MUST RESIDE IN THE RALEIGH-DURHAM, NC AREA. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and inspire the new velocity team to develop and execute innovative growth strategies focused on user/customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across various channels. Establish cross-functional relationships, metrics, and team culture norms.
  • User/Customer Acquisition: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute strategies for driving user/customer acquisition through digital advertising, content marketing, SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and partnerships.
  • Conversion Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize conversion rates at every stage of the customer journey through experimentation, A/B testing, and multivariate experiments.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization, and drive continuous improvement in key metrics.
  • Retention and Engagement: Implement strategies to enhance user engagement and retention, including lifecycle marketing campaigns, personalized messaging, and product optimization.
  • Product-Market Fit: Collaborate closely with product management and development teams to understand user needs, drive product enhancements, and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and customer success, to drive alignment and ensure cohesive execution of growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, product-led sales, or related roles, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention through innovative growth strategies and tactics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve measurable results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in experimentation, A/B testing, and multivariate experiments to optimize key metrics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SQL, Python) is a plus.
  • History and experience with complex software in Security and observability also a plus. 
  • Willing to go the the office 2-3 days a week.

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $123,040 - $144,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
