Ads is the fuel that powers Reddit’s mission to bring community, belonging, and empowerment to everyone in the world. The ads experimentation platform team owns the ads experimentation framework, infrastructures, A/B testing and data readouts.

We are looking for a software engineer to join us to build and scale our ads experimentation framework and infrastructures. This role will be focusing on three key areas:

  • Budget-aware experiment frameworks - Build and customize testing tools that can accurately measure impacts and derive insights from ads marketplace A/B tests with budget constraints,
  • Ads Experimentation infrastructure – Optimize and scale our testing tools to increase the test density (more tests in parallel) in the ads marketplace, with easy access to metrics and reports,
  • Data readouts and analysis - Evolve automated readout to catch valuable insights and help decision making in the ads marketplace with ever growing feature complexities and angles,

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale ads experimentation frameworks and infrastructures
  • Design end-to-end technical solutions to customer problems
  • Guide other engineers in implementing your technical designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/CS major (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, computer science). A Master's or PhD is a plus, but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 1+ years of hands on experience and solid understanding of A/B testing and statistical analysis frameworks
  • Significant experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (Go, Java, Scala, C++, Python)
  • Experience in backend engineering, distributed systems, databases, etc 
  • Experience with Advertisement Technology is a plus, but not required

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:
$164,200$229,900 USD
