We’re seeking a Software Development Intern to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.
As an intern on the Scientific Infrastructure team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and expanding the core chemistry libraries that underlie tools across the Schrödinger suite. Our ideal candidate is driven to write high-quality, maintainable code and has an interest in applying their skills to improve scientific software.

- A programmer who’s excited about writing performant code to calculate fundamental chemistry concepts

What you’ll do:
- Work on a primary project that fits your background and improves Schrödinger’s core C++ and Python libraries
- Help maintain the integrity of our current tools by working on smaller improvement requests
- Collaborate with scientific product teams across departments and disciplines
- Potential to contribute to open-source projects, such as RDKit
What you should have:
- At least two years of experience writing code
- Some proficiency with Python and/or C++
- Past contribution to any open-source project preferred
- Previous internship experience preferred
- Cheminformatics or other scientific background is a plus

Estimated base salary: $4,500 - $7,500/mo. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
