We’re looking to hire an Applications Scientist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!

We set the record for the largest and fastest cloud computing run, and our software suites continue to transform the design of therapeutics and materials. FEP+, WaterMap, Glide, Maestro, and LiveDesign are just a few examples of the applications we’ve created.
As a member of our UK Applications Science team, you’ll train and guide customers in their use of our groundbreaking molecular modelling suites, provide strategic scientific support, and address challenging problems in drug discovery.

What you’ll do:
- Provide scientific support to current and prospective customers, which includes demonstration of optimal use of our life science software suites, facilitation of interactions between customers and product development teams, and general scientific guidance
- Troubleshoot customers’ scientific workflows, administration, and adaptation of their modelling environment
- Engage in cutting-edge methodological scientific research and advise our customers on best practices for computational modelling
- Publish scientific papers and present at conferences
What you should have:
- PhD in computational chemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field
- A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process and of medicinal chemistry
- Demonstrable Python programming experience
- Experience with cheminformatics, chemical data structures, databases, and administration of software or applications
- Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written)
- Willingness to travel but be located primarily in the UK
- One of the following is a plus:
- Postdoctoral research and/or relevant experience in the commercial sector
- Expertise in ligand-based drug design, machine learning
- Expertise in structure-based drug design, molecular dynamics, free energy calculations
- French and/or Spanish language skills
